Scavenger Hunt

Craig and I have a habit of finding the weird, the strange the odd and the funny looking when we travel. This is especially true when spending days at streetpainting festivials.  Soooooooo, we have put together a fun scavenger hunt for a little extra fun!  Photos only, with the exception of the first category, and of course the story along with the photo.  We will gather the last evening on the boat to determine the winner.
  1. Weirdest or Tackiest Souvenir. The tackiest, the most bizarre or otherwise the strangest souvenir you can find. DO NOT pay over 3 Euros.
  2. Smallest Car. The car actually has to be on the road and capable of moving under its own power. Oh, ya, it has to be capable of carrying a human. No clown cars, no kiddie cars, no Barbie & Ken cars, no bumper cars.
  3. Most Tacky Tourist - Male. The tackiest, strangest tourist you are embarrassed to be around or seen with.
  4. Most Tacky Tourist - Female. Strangely dressed, inappropriately dressed, bizarre behavior, you know someone who would embarrass you, but makes you laugh. Extra points for a picture with her.
  5. Longest Name. Of course we are going to places and meeting people with alphabet soup for names, but to pronounce the name (correctly) is to win the category. The question is will we know you pronounced it right?
  6. Most Confusing Sign. Sure we have all seen signs that caught us off guard or we didn’t understand. In this category we are looking for the travel or traffic sign not understood or that is extra confusing. If you get lost trying to follow the sign you are the category winner.
  7. Weirdest Food you actually ate. You have to have a witness. Someone at the end of the trip needs to vouch for you actually eating something unusual. A photo of the offending item adds points.
  8. Most Misunderstood Conversation with a local. Did you just get cussed out or are you just misunderstood? If the misunderstanding is with the local constable, polizia, policia you automatically win this item. Bonus: if the constable, polizia, policia takes you to the pokey you automatically win the scavenger hunt.
  9. Celebrity or Pseudo-celebrity. Yeah, you never know when you might see someone famous in the European hot spots! If not, then find someone that looks like a celebrity. If the photo is taken at one of the many nude beaches then you will have to cash in with Enquirer magazine.
  10. Funniest Street Performer. You know the drill: clowns, mimes, jugglers, three-card Monty scam artists.
  11. Oddest Statue. Back in those days, you know, “those days”, strange or scary statues were created. The strangest or oddest is the winner.
  12. Indigenous Dress. The southern European countries are a crossroads of cultures, especially during the summer holiday season. This category is to find a person in indigenous dress strolling the street. Find a Burqa Babe strolling the street you have a winner. Find a group of Burqa Babes and you really have a real winner.
  13. Longest Line. Who hasn’t stood in a long line waiting for something to happen: at the DMV, or at theme parks. Take a photo of the longest line you stood in and tell us how long you waited for service – the story should be good for a winner.
